About About

Lune Hollow Farm is a boutique equestrian stable located in beautiful Bedford, NY — just an hour from Grand Central Station in NYC by train. We have an eclectic program that reflects our love for all traditions of good horsemanship, with instruction offered in classical dressage, western, and hunter/jumper, as well as carriage driving. Our facility is designed for natural 24/7 turnout whenever possible, features an outdoor arena with top quality, dust-free footing, and direct access to the Bedford Riding Lanes, a trail system consisting of nearly a hundred miles of interconnected bridle trails.

History

Nick and Megan lived in NYC for almost a decade, first in Brooklyn and then Manhattan. While we were living our city lives, a hidden farm in Bedford, NY was being slowly reclaimed by the wilderness. Its arenas grew tall with weeds, its split rail fencing sagged, and its buildings -- farmhouse, barn, and cottage -- were populated by creeping wisteria and small wild creatures.

When we saw it, we both agreed that it was much, much too big a project. But as we wandered the quiet hollow and made magical discoveries of hidden gates, forgotten dressage letters, and rambling stone walls, the realization stole over us: this was our dream. Standing in a sun-soaked meadow that felt as remote as the Vermont of our childhoods, we decided we had to take the gamble and try to make it our home.

Lune Hollow Farm felt like something out of a storybook, and still does, with its barely-tamed nature and wonderful cast of characters -- human and animal. Its name comes from all the nights we spent wandering through the still-empty paddocks while the hollow was filled to the brim with moonlight, stargazing in the cold and daring to hope for a future on this farm filled with family, friends, and horses.

Over the past several years, we have indeed been lucky to fill it with all those things! We welcomed our daughter, Rowan, during our second spring here, and have been gifted with the best possible community of friends, family, and -- yes! -- horses.

What drew us to this farm in the beginning persists today, and is what we hope to share with everyone who joins our barn circle: a respite from the cares and hurry of ordinary life, a place to be centered, a sense that we are composing the stories of our own lives and have reason for optimism about what we will make happen.

Welcome to the Hollow,
