We sometimes have horses and ponies available for on-site lease or sale. If you don’t see what you’re looking for listed here, feel free to to inquire anyway! It’s possible that we aren’t actively advertising but may have some opportunities coming up.
For Lease
We offer on-site leases only, and continue providing all care for leased horses. Long-term leases (one year) include a gift membership to the Bedford Riding Lanes Association, which grants access to the extensive trail network off our property! Lease terms are flexible and based on the number of rides per week. There is usually the opportunity to take leased horses off property to participate in the wonderful events of the area – hunter paces, trail rides, shows, etc. We match people with a horse to lease after one or more lessons to establish the relationship and ensure a good fit. Lesson fees during the trial period are applied to the lease if we move forward.
Note: Leases are available to clients who are able to independently catch, tack, and ride their own horse. If that’s not you, but you’re interested, no problem – come take lessons with us until you reach the level of proficiency needed to lease your own!

Tennyson
We call Tennyson our poet in residence, appropriate for a distinguished dressage professional like himself. He is a seasoned fourth level schoolmaster who has helped several riders achieve their silver medals, and would be perfect for someone looking to learn or polish their dressage fundamentals as well as experience upper level movements on a safe and sensitive partner.
Instruction is available on site, and you’d also be welcome to take lessons with your qualified & insured trainer. Our area of Northern Westchester has access to several top trainers and clinicians for additional educational opportunities.
In addition to the spotlight on dressage, Tennyson is an awesome trail partner (and when we say trails, we mean real trails – he crosses rivers, bridges, busy roads, and will give those foxhunters a run for their money at the hunter paces!). We have direct access to the Bedford Riding Lanes system, which means you’ll have nearly a hundred miles of beautiful trails to explore.
Tennyson is available for a partial lease of 2-4 rides per week, with a one year commitment preferred.
Russet
Explore a hundred miles of interconnected bridle trails in Northern Westchester with Russet, the safe and reliable bedrock of our eclectic program. She gives quiet w/t lessons to our smallest riders, builds the confidence of our adult beginners, and is the good-natured star of our equestrian vaulting and mounted archery programs. For more experienced riders, she’s simply the most fun – the horse you can trust to be sensible in any situation, but who will be just as excited as you to go for a nice gallop! She is the best partner on hunter paces, and provides the steadying influence for other horses in new or exciting environments.
Russet is a fully trained western horse with lots of “buttons” and a true one-handed neck rein, but also goes beautifully in English tack.
Russet is available for a partial lease of 2 rides per week, with a 6-12 month commitment preferred.
